Malam Baba Dantiye, the new Kano State Commissioner for information and Internal Affairs, has charged staff of the ministry to be punctual, and adhere to civil service rules and regulations.
This is contained in a statement issued by the Director, Special Duties of the ministry, Alhaji Sani Abba Yola, in Kano on Tuesday.
The statement said that Dantiye gave the task during a maiden meeting with the management staff of the ministry in his office.
He enjoined them to be diligent and alive to their duty in order to attain the vision of the state government.
The statement added that Dantiye stressed that the new administration of Gov. Abba Yusuf would not tolerate absenteeism and lateness to duty.
It further affirmed the commitment of the present administration in ensuring effective promotion of staff welfare to enhance productivity.
Furthermore, the statement said that after inspecting the various departments and units of the ministry, Dantiye urged the staff to maintain a clean environment.

The new commissioner was conducted round by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Alhaji Sani Yola, where he assessed the offices that needed rehabilitation, furniture and equipment.
Dantiye, an alumnus of NIPSS Kuru – Jos, is a member of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ).
He had served as a General Secretary and later President of the Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE). (NAN)
