The apex Igbo youth socio-cultural Organization, Ohanaeze Youth Council (OYC), has urged South East governors to close down churches, public schools and malls particularly where there are more than 30 persons.
According to the group, this will serve as a precautionary measure to limit the spread of deadly Coronavirus pandemic in the region.
In a short statement issued by the President-General of the organisation, Okechukwu Isiguzoro, the youths also called on the Enugu State Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi to investigate the recent death of a 70-year-old woman suspected of having the dreaded Coronavirus, irrespective of the accusations of the family that the she died as a result of the negligence of the Enugu government.

The group also commended the President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government on the preventive steps taken so far, especially in closing of borders, shutting down all Federal Government’s schools and colleges, Airports as well as imposing travel ban on 13 high countries affected by the pandemic.
The Ohanaeze youths urged the federal government to also take preventive precautionary measures at motor parks, as the parks have the potential of encouraging the spread of the disease.
