Nigeria on Friday recorded 223 fresh cases of Coronavirus and one death, according to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).

The cases were reported from 16 states and Abuja.

According to the health agency, the new cases have raised the overall confirmed cases in Nigeria to 63,731.

Meanwhile, the NCDC said two deaths previously recorded in Imo were erroneously reported. It put the number of fatalities across the country as of Friday night at 1,154, adding that 96 cases were discharged to bring the total number of discharges to 59,844.

The new infections are recorded as follows; Lagos (85), FCT (35), Akwa Ibom (24), Enugu (18), Plateau (13), Rivers (10), Abia (7), Ebonyi (6), Anambra (5), Adamawa (4), Bauchi (3), Imo (3), Ogun (3), Oyo (3), Kwara (2), Osun (1) and Taraba (1).
