Africa’s COVID-19 Cases Pass 1.24m As Death Toll Nears 30,000

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) said it discharged 409 patients from COVID-19 treatment Centres across the country in the last 24 hours.

The is as it announced 122 new cases of infections and one death also in the last 24 hours.

Part of the discharges on Wednesday, included 371 community recoveries in Lagos State managed in line with guidelines, according to the health agency.

The update read in part: “Till date, 67,960 cases have been confirmed, 63,839 cases have been discharged and 1,177 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

“The 122 new cases are reported from 11 states- Kaduna (37) Lagos (29 ), Plateau (25), Ekiti (9), Rivers (5), Ogun (5), Edo (4) Kwara (4), Bayelsa (2), Bauchi (1), and Kano (1).”
