The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 675 new COVID-19 infections, pushing the overall number of cases to 71,344.
This shows that within three days, December 7 to December 10, the country recorded 1,699 cases of COVID-19 infections.
The NCDC in an update published on its website late Thursday, said the 675 new cases were reported from 15 states and the Federal Capital Territory, with the FCT having the highest number of 183, followed by Lagos and Kaduna States with 128 and 85 cases respectively.

Other states with new infections, according to the health body include: Kwara (57), Katsina (50), Plateau (42), Rivers (39), Kano (33), Ondo (21), Ogun (17), Bauchi (10), Sokoto (5), Edo (2), Ekiti (1), Bayelsa (1), and Delta(1).
The agency also disclosed that six persons succumbed to the disease on the day in review bringing the total number of fatalities resulting from the infection to 1,190.
On a positive note however, the update indicated that 232 persons who had recovered fully from the disease were discharged in the last 24 hours.
This brings to 65, 474, the number of recoveries recorded so far in the country.
