COVID-19: NCDC Applauds Ebonyi On Preventive Measures

The technical team of Nigeria Centre for  Diseases Control (NCDC) has commended the precautionary measures put in place by the Ebonyi State government, urging that it should be sustained.

The NCDC described as comprehensive, the preventive approach  adopted by the  state to contain the spread of Coronavirus pandemic in the area.

The NCDC technical team, led by Dr. Sophia Osuwa, gave the commendation when they paid a courtesy visit on the Commissioner for Information and State Orientation and Ag.Commissioner Human Capital Development and Monitoring, Barrister Orji Uchenna Orji, on Tuesday.

The team said Governor David Umahi had been proactive and passionate about the safety and security of his people, describing his approach as a model for all states.

Osuwa said they were enthused by the level of border closure and compliance to precautionary measures and other regulations, while economic activities within the state were not allowed to suffer unduly.

In his response, the commissioner thanked the NCDC DG and the COVID-19 Presidential Task Force for their initiatives that had contained the escalation of the virus.
