The governments of Kebbi and Bauchi States have directed their civil servants to stay and work from their homes for two weeks with effect from Wednesday, March 25.
Governor Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State, through a statement issued by the Acting Head of Civil Service, Fatima Sani-Ago, gave the directive on Tuesday in Birnin Kebbi, while the Bauchi State government made its announcement via a statement by the Information Officer in the Office of the Head of Service, Umar Said.
Sani-Ago in statement said: “the civil servants mentioned below are to remain and work from their homes with effect from Wednesday, 25th March, 2020. This is for an initial two weeks.
“This directive, however, does not include those on essential services such as health personnel, financial institutions, internal revenue collection, water board, media outfits, electricity supply, security and emergency service, etc.”

In Bauchi, Ma’aji said Civil Servants on GL 12 and below should work from home, with effect from Wednesday, March 25, until further notice.
Said, who signed the on behalf of the state Head of Civil Service, Abubakar Ma’aji, said that staff on GL 13 and above were not affected by the directive.
He also said health and security personnel were among essential staff to report to work during the period to sustain coordination of effective service delivery.
Ma’aji said that the measure became necessary considering the number of Nigerians, including the state Governor Bala Muhammed who have tested positive to the Coronavirus.
“We urge citizens to observe necessary precautions during interaction; there should be minimal contact among people,” he added.
