The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has again cautioned Abuja Churches ahead of the crossover night.
Mr. Ikharo Attah, Senior Special Assistant to the FCT Minister on Monitoring, Inspection and Enforcement, made the appeal when he visited some Churches in the FCT.
Attah noted that given the Omicron variant of the COVID-19, it was necessary for religious leaders and groups to prevail on their followers to abide with the protocols.
He warned that the FCTA would hold them responsible for any breach leading to health emergency in their domains.
Also, the Director, Public Health Department of FCTA, Dr. Abduralman Sadiq, said the appeal and sensitisation were imperative following the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in the territory.

Sadiq said the COVID-19 isolation centres in Abuja which were hitherto empty, were now getting crowded as a result of the spike, adding that one death was recorded on Thursday in one of the centres.
Rev. Samson Jonah, the Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), FCT Chapter, said the association had directed all Churches to limit gathering in their worship centres to half of their capacity.
Jonah said the Christian community in Abuja would continue to support government’s efforts and intensify prayers for the elimination of the diseases.
The Churches visited included First Baptist Church, Redeemed Christian Church of God and Dunamis International Gospel.(NAN)
