Benue State Governor and Coordinator of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), Presidential Campaign, North Central, Samuel Ortom, on Tuesday hosted the inaugural meeting of the PDP Presidential Campaign Council.
Speaking at the meeting which held at Benue State Governor’s lodge, Asokoro, in Abuja, Gov. Ortom expressed appreciation to the party for finding him worthy of the assignment.
Ortom said he was confident of victory because of the calibre of people on the team and their track records of previous achievements.
“We’ll make history as the results of all the elections for our party in the next elections will be overwhelming.
“The challenge we’ve had in the zone which the party at the centre has failed to address will work in our favour, “Ortom said.
He enjoined all members of the team to work hard so that they would collectively engrave their names in gold.

According to a report by the Special Adviser to Governor Samuel Ortom on Media and ICT, Tahav Agerzua, stalwarts of the party including its serving senators, governorship and senatorial candidates as well as members of its board of trustees and executive committee members at the zonal level attended the meeting.
The dignitaries include two former Senate Presidents, Iorchia Ayu, David Mark, former deputy Senate President, Ibrahim Mantu, former Benue State Gov., Dr. Gabriel Suswam, former Female Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, Margaret Icheen among others.
