As part of safety efforts against COVID-19, Benue state government has directed that school in the state will not be opened until January 18, 2021.
The Commissioner for Education in the state, Prof. Dennis Ityavyar, stated this in a statement signed by the Acting Director, Admin and Supply, in the Ministry, Ubwa Ruth and made available to journalists.
Professor Ityavyar explained that the decision was sequel to the directives of the Benue State Task Force on COVID-19 regarding the resumption of academic activities for second term of 2020/2021 session.

“The Commissioner, hereby, directed all schools in the state to re-open on 18th January, 2021 for commencement of academic activities for the 2nd term.
“Consequently, Heads of schools in the state are to ensure that COVID-19 preventive protocols are strictly observed during/after resumption.
He appreciated all the teachers and students in the state and wished them a prosperous New Year.
