The number of persons infected with the Coronavirus in Nigeria hit 53,021 on Wednesday following the confirmation of 221 more cases by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
The health agency announced this via a post on its verified Twitter handle on Wednesday night.
According to the agency, three persons died from the virus within the 24 hours under review, bringing the number of deaths from the virus to 1010.

Of the 53,021 confirmed cases, NCDC said 40,281 have successfully managed and discharged.
The new cases were reported from 19 states and Abuja with Plateau taking the lead.
Details of the cases are as follows – Plateau (60), FCT (33), Kaduna (26), Rivers (18), Lagos (17), Enugu (9), Kwara (9), Ondo (9), Nasarawa (6), Gombe (5), Anambra (5), Delta (4), Abia (4), Imo (3), Edo (2), Ogun (2), Oyo (2), Osun (2), Bauchi (1), Kano (1).
