In 2015, he bagged the Most Influential Publicist of the year awards from CAMA –Canadian Agri-Marketing Association. This award was certainly not the first, neither was it the second; there had been many others abinitio. And the awards never stopped coming. Yet, this media personality with experience from multiple media organisations he worked with, did not leave his head in the clouds – it stayed with him.

We are talking here about one of Nigeria’s most renowned publicist with an array of awards both locally and internationally; one who had the good fortune of meeting and working with countless successful personalities in Entertainment, Business, Politics, and across other professions – many of whom he had the good honour of promoting when they were just starters.

Cornelius Udofia – or Cornel Baba, as he is often called by friends and fans – is a strong Nigerian brand in the business of image making. Since starting out with the likes of Jim Iyke and Ini Edo, and several years down the line with numerous awards to show for this hard work, Cornel does not seem anyway near slowing down in his strides.

He had built for himself an enviable portfolio of celebrities both in and out of Nigeria. His humility in relating with everyone irrespective of race, creed and status, has projected him as a good character required of a publicist. Cornel does not carry any air of showmanship. His greatest pleasure as he puts it is:  “To see people succeed.”

Here are just a few of the personalities this Akwa Ibom State born trail blazer have had working experiences with –Jim Iyke, Ini Edo, Faze, Tonto Dikeh, Tese Onokala, Mama G Davina, Princess, Emeka Ike, Halima Abubakar, Aneke Twins, Amanda, Princess Anne Iyang, Oge Okoye, Ella Mensah, Chief Mike Ozekhomie (SAN), Benita Nzeribe, Vincent Opurum, and many others.

Cornell have also had the following awards conferred on him: Man of Activities in Entertainment industry; Showbiz Personality of the year; ZAFAA awards UK, RIMA foundation USA; United Nations Media Ambassador.

So far, this energetic publicist and founder of the Cornel Media Consult (cMc), has counted well over eighty awards received both locally and internationally.

Ambassador Udofia believes everyone has an equal chance at succeeding in life, hence he does not have preference to any particular class of people – high or low, rich or poor, learned or unlearned. His simplicity at working with everyone on almost same footing marks him out as a people’s person, a charismatic leader, a pacesetter. His driving force in others is their commitment to work, and their ability to put trust and honesty in all their dealings.

Cornel Udofia is still in the business of promoting stars and starters. His online platforms have helped professionals across various fields to network and build relationship that transcends business.
