Commonwealth Games: Ezuruike wins Gold for Nigeria

Nigeria has won its first gold in the ongoing Commonwealth Games and it was by para powerlifter Roland Ezuruike.

He won the gold medal in the lightweight category on Tuesday, lifting 224.3kg.

Nigeria’s Paul Kehinde won silver medal with a 219.9kg lift while Ali Jawad of England won the bronze medal with a lift of 182.7kg.

It would be recalled that Ezuruike won a silver medal in the men’s 72kg event at the 2014 Commonwealth Games.
