The President of the Eastern Union (EU) has said that the use of the Presidential jet by Aisha, President Muhammadu Buhari’s daughter, was not the worst act of the recklessness of the first family since he took over power five years ago.

Charles Anike, the EU National President, who spoke exclusively to NEXT EDITION on Tuesday, maintained that the issue of first family flying the Presidential jet showed the recklessness of the current administration.

The EU boss, who was reacting to controversies over the use of presidential jet by the president’s daughter, said: “Since inception, Gen. Buhari has run the affairs of the country like a private estate. There are incessant abuse of processes and procedures by Buhari, his family members and associates.”

According to him, Aisha’s use of the Presidential jet had gone a long way to further confirm that the president had no control, even over his household.

“Therefore, it will do us good if we as a people will somehow look away from Gen. Buhari and reserve our energies towards making sure he does not amend our Constitution to remain in power and/or impose his favourite on us in 2023.

“For me, whatever we see or hear about Buhari and his family members, with regards to the way and manner they run the country, it is obvious he has nothing new to offer.

“All his lies and propaganda are already public knowledge and only few ignorant Nigerians still pay attention to him. All he says and does are politics and to exhaust his tenure. Already, we know that he is a double failure,” Anike added.
