Member representing Ohaoazara/Onicha/Ivo federal Constituency of Ebonyi State in the House of Representatives, Mr. Linus Abaa Okorie, has picked holes in the promise of Igbo presidency in 2023 by President Muhammadu Buhari, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Okorie said such promise without reliable action was a pure deceit packaged to get undeserved sympathy and support in the zone during the 2019 general elections.

He said President Buhari’s failure to pick an Igbo as his running mate, unlike his Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) counterpart, Atiku Abubakar, exposed his promise of Igbo Presidency in 2023 as pure deceit.

Okorie explained that only Atiku’s promise of Igbo presidency in 2023 was trustworthy because, according to him, the former Vice President had not only picked Peter Obi, former Anambra governor, as his running mate, but had also pledged to govern the nation for only one term to pave way for Obi to take over.

The lawmaker, who was addressing members of his Caringheart Foundation in Abakaliki, called on the people of South-East in different parts of the nation to queue behind Atiku/Obi ticket in the interest of the zone and the nation at large.

Okorie, the state Co-ordinator of Friends of Atiku, enjoined his supporters and loyalists under Caringheart Foundation to unite for Atiku and Obi ahead the general elections.

Okorie, Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Agricultural Colleges and Institutions, named Gbenga Daniel, the ex-Director General of Atiku Presidential Organisation and former Ogun State governor, as Grand Patron of the group, while Raymond Dokpesi, the CEO of DAAR Communications, is the Patron.

Others are Sen. Lee Maeba, National Coordinator; Buba Galadima, Deputy National Coordinator and Auwalu Anwar as National Secretary.

He said Friends of Atiku would work with all the candidates and members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ebonyi State to return Atiku and Obi in 2019.
