BREAKING: Suspected thugs storm Senate, snatch mace

There was chaos at the Senate on Wednesday as some unknown persons stormed the chamber and took away the mace.

The mace is the symbol of authority of the Legislature.

The snatching of the mace coincides with the protest against the suspension of Senator Ovie Omo-Agege from Delta State.

The senator was suspended for 90 days following his claim that the re-ordering of the sequence of the 2019 election by the Legislature was targeted at President Muhammadu Buhari.

Analysts have argued that the president would be at a disadvantage during the election if the presidential election comes last as re-arranged by the National Assembly.
