Legendary musician, Prof. Victor Uwaifo is dead.
Uwaifo, who was popularly known as “The Guitar Boy,”reportedly die on Saturday, August 28, 2021.
His son, Peter De Rock, confirmed his demise on social media.
In a short message on his Facebook wall, Peter announced the demise of his father saying, “Daddy why do you leave us now? Prof. Victor Uwaifo has gone to rest. Black Saturday for me now.”

Before his demise, Victor Uwaifo was a professor of visual arts at the University of Benin.
He was also the first professional musician to be awarded the National Merit Honours of Member of the Order of the Niger (MON).
He was also the first Commissioner for Arts, Culture and Tourism in Nigeria.
