Femi Gbajabiamila, representing Surulere constituency 1 of Lagos State, has emerged Speaker of the 9th House of Representatives.
Gbajabiamila, who is the longest serving member of the House and the immediate past Majority Leader, beat his party member, Umar Bago to clinch the position.

Both Gbajabiamila and Bago are of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, though Gbajabiamila is the party’s preferred choice.
He scored 282 out of 358 votes to win the coveted office.
