The Port Harcourt Division of the Court of Appeal has ordered that the Independent National Electoral Commission should retain the All Progressives Congress and its governorship candidate, David Lyon, on the ballot, for Saturday’s governorship election in Bayelsa State.
The court gave the order following an ex parte motion filed by counsel to the Bayelsa State governorship candidate, David Lyon on November 14, 2019.
Recall that a Federal High Court sitting in Yenagoa had on Thursday nullified the APC governorship primary which led to the emergence of Lyon as the party’s candidate in the November 16 election.
Also an Abuja High Court had earlier on Tuesday disqualified the deputy governorship candidate of the party on the grounds that he gave wrong information on his forms submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
