Boko Haram: NAF helicopter suffers mishap

One helicopter of the Nigerian Air Force, NAF, has suffered a mishap while undertaking a mission in the ongoing onslaught against the terrorists group, Boko Haram, in the North East.

Although no life was lost, the mishap caused a major damage to the helicopter.

The Director of Public Relations and Information, NAF Headquarters, AVM Olatokunbo Adesanya, who disclosed this in a statement on Monday in Abuja said the Chief of Air Staff, (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, had directed that a board of inquiry should be set up to find out the cause of the incident.

The directive was with immediate effect.

According to Adesanya, the directive by the Chief of Air Staff was in line with global best practices whenever such unfortunate incident occurred.

He said NAF would continue to seek the understanding and support of the general populace in its bid to ensure security of the nation and its people.
