Boko Haram: Army repels attack at checkpoint

An attack by the terrorists group, Boko Haram, at a security checkpoint was repelled by soldiers on Monday.

The incident, it was gathered, occurred at about 5.30 p.m.

The checkpoint was located at Moloi area, a few kilometers away from Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State.

Members of the terrorists group were said to have invaded the area, burning down houses and vehicles along Maiduguri-Damboa-Biu Road, leaving residents to desert the town.

The soldiers deployed to the area, it was gathered, however, repelled the attack.

The Next Edition gathered that peace had been restored and security beefed up in the area to forestall any such incident.

The Police and military authorities have not made any comment on the incident as at the time of filing this report.
