BREAKING: Pastor Dies, Others Injured As Church Building Collapses In Benue

A pastor of a church reportedly lost his life while three other members sustained injuries when a church building collapsed in Makurdi, the capital of Benue state.

The collapse was said to have occurred after 15 hours of heavy downpour that started on Monday, October 2, and continued into the early hours of Tuesday, October 3.

The Nation learnt that the incident left a member of the church dead.

According to sources, four members of the church were observing prayers at the church building before the incident occurred.

It was gathered that the deceased was a pastor but The Nation could not confirm.

The other worshippers were said to have escaped the collapsed building with various injuries.

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer for the Benue State Police Command, Anene Sewuese Catherine, said she was not aware of the incident. (The Nation)
