Police Operatives in Benue State have rescued a 7 year old boy, Ebuka Ezewugo after spending six days in captivity.
The rescue operation was carried out by officers and men of Operation Zenda yesterday Tuesday in Naka town, headquarters of Gwer West Local Government Area of the state.
The victim, Master Ebuka Ezewugo was abducted from his father’s residence by gun men who later demanded a ransom N30 Million before he could be released.
Master Ebuka, was released after men of Operation Zenda, an elite squad headed by SP Justin Gberindyer engaged the kidnappers in an exchange of gun battle in a community along Naka road.
The police said three of the abductors were arrested while others fled with bullet wounds.
The Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO), DSP Catherine Anene, in a phone chat confirmed the incident stating that a minor of seven years of age was rescued.

She called on the public to assist the police and other security agencies with useful information to help nip crime in the bud eapecially at this festive period.
It will be recalled that same operatives rescued a medical doctor after he was kidnapped from his residence in Gboko local area of state, three weeks ago.
Anene who expressed concern that kidnapping incidences have been become alarming in the state said the police is poised to ensuring that criminal elements relocate from Benue.
According to her, the state Commissioner of Police, CP Garba Mukkadas, has deployed police operatives in various part of the state to ensure police visibility warning that anyone caught commiting any kind of crime will be dealt with according to the law.
