Following reports of kidnapping, armed robbery and other sundry crimes in Adikpo and other communities in Kwande local government area of Benue state, the Police command has arrested one Ogbo, a gang member terrorizing the area.
The state police public relations officer, DSP Catherine Anene, who confirmed the arrest of the suspected gang member, said the police commissioner, CP Garba Mukkadas, has continually assured the Benue people of flushing out hoodlums from their hideouts.
She further said the command is on the lookout for other fleeing gang members while the suspect is being interrogated.
Ogbo was arrested by the state special police squad, “Operation Zenda”, on Friday morning for terrorizing and unleashing mayhem on unsuspecting members of the community.
The police said he was arrested at about 4 a.m in the morning when police operatives stormed their hideout following a tip-off that the notorious gang, headed by DK Mama was planning a robbery attack at Lyon axis of Obudu road in Kwande LGA of Benue.

The police also explained that DK mama, and his cohorts have been responsible for kidnapping of some businessmen in the community and environs.
Some of their victims include one Mr. Charles of C Venture, Mr. Dennis as well as Aondofar and Mathew.
The command further said the gang was planning to attack another unsuspecting victim on Friday morning when men of Operation Zenda stormed their hideout.
The hoodlums were said to have opened fire and taken to their heels and in retaliation, the Police gunned down Ogbo while others fled with gun wounds.
An eye witness who identified himself simply as Terfa, disclosed that the activities of the hoodlums have become unbearable in the community. “Usually when they come around we are always afraid, when they commit any act they escape through the Cameroon mountain and most people have been victims of their vicious attacks”.
Terfa who expressed hope that the police are able to bring sanity to their community said “with one of them already in police custody, the fleeing ones can be apprehended and brought to account for their sins”.
Items recovered when police stormed their hideout were an AK 47 rifle, cache of ammunition, phones, Army uniforms and assorted charms.
