The remains of the State Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Benue State Council, Late Victoria Asher, will be laid to rest on Friday, February 12, 2021.
The Central Planning Committee for the burial made the announcement after a slight change in the burial programme.
A press statement issued by the state Secretary, Moses Akarhan, shows that on Thursday, February 11, 2021, her body will leave Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Makurdi, mortuary at 12noon for a valedictory session at the NUJ House, Makurdi.

The statement said that at 2:00pm, there will be funeral service at the House of Jubilee, Makurdi, after which her remains will be taken to her family residence, No. 8, Terngu Apedzan Close; Nyon Layout, Judges quarters extension, Makurdi for lying in State and Service of Songs.
“On Friday, February 12, 2021, the remains of Victoria Asher will leave Makurdi by 7:00am for Tse-Maave in Tongov, Ugber, along Amaafu-Ugba road, Katsina-Ala Local Government Area of Benue State for burial on the same day.
The council urged all Journalists in the state to participate in all the burial activities.
