Worried by the spate of killings in Benue State and other parts of the country, the House of Representatives, on Wednesday, summoned President Muhammadu Buhari.
He is expected to brief the legislators on the security situation in the country, particularly, over the wanton waste of lives.
They, however, did not give a specific date for Buhari to appear.
The legislators, who blamed the heads of the security outfits of the country for the killings, passed a vote of no confidence on them.
The House resolved to shut down for three days in protest of the killings.
The legislators were debating the reprisal attack carried out on a Benue State community by soldiers over the death of a soldier when the idea of summoning Buhari came up.

House of Representatives member, Mark Gbillah, who is from Benue condemned the killing in a motion he moved on the issue.
Midway, however, Bashir Baballe, from Kano State, moved for an amendment that Buhari should be summoned over the spate of killings.
The idea was well received and got the approval of the House at the end of the deliberation.
All the legislators that contributed to the debate of the motion spoke vehemently against the killings, insisting that an end must be brought to them.
The concluded that the failure to stem the tide of havoc resulted from the inefficiency of the security chiefs and the failure of the president to hold them responsible.
