The Commissioner of Police in Benue State, Garba Mukkadas, has reiterated the commitment of the command to continue to build synergy with the civil populace in order to further strengthen community policing in the state.
The Commissioner of Police stated this in Makurdi when he commissioned Police ‘E’ Division renovated by members of the Police Community Relations Committee, PCRC, in Akpehe, Makurdi.
He said to effectively fight crime and criminality, the police must collaborate with the civil populace to gain their trust and confidence so as to get useful information to nip crime in the bud.
The CP thanked the leadership and members of the PCRC for renovating ‘E’ Division of the command in the state.
He further called on members of the public to be partners in progress saying the job of policing must not be left in the hands of the police alone as all hands must be on deck to rid the state of all forms of crime and criminalities.

The chairman PCRC Akpehe Division, Mr. Francis Ihombe, said renovating ‘E’ Division, of the Police, was borne out of the need to assist the police in giving the division a face lift and make their workplace befitting.
Mr. Ihombe, however, maintained that the PCRC did it as part of effort to foster good working relationship with police and the community in crime prevention.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Division, CSP Daniel Ezeala, thanked Akpehe PCRC for the wonderful job and promise to continue to strengthen the existing relationship.
PCRC renovated the entire building of the division including the cells, painted it, refurbished and replaced some of the furniture at the station.
