Bauchi: Abubakar expands new State Executive Council

Each of the local governments of Bauchi State will have a representation in the new State Executive Council to be put in place by Governor Mohammed Abubakar.

This is with the intention of widening representation and sources of generating brighter ideas to lead the state to greatness.

This was made known in a statement issued by Press Secretary to the Governor, Abubakar Al-Sadique.

He said membership of the executive council, which is to be constituted soon, was expanded to twenty with technocrats and experienced people with diverse professional backgrounds.

Governor Abubakar had on assumption of office earlier in 2015, reduced the number of ministries and commissioners from the twenty-six the previous administration had to sixteen.

Al-Sadique reiterated that the governor was making the new changes in order to widen the representation of each local government area with full cabinet membership as against the practice in the past that allowed four of the local government areas only special advisory slots.
