English club side, Arsenal has sacked its Head Coach, Unai Emery.
In the interim, it announced Freddie Ljungberg as Head Coach pending the employment of a new coach.
“Today, decision has been taken to part with our head coach Unai Emery”, Arsenal announced online.
Club owner, Kroenke Sports & Entertainment, Josh Kroenke expressed sincere thanks to Unai Emery and his colleagues and wished them success in their future endeavours.
He explained that the decision to let Emery go was because the club’s results and performances were not at the level required of him.
“We have asked Freddie Ljungberg to take responsibility for the first team as Interim Head coach. We have full confidence in Freddie Ljungberg to take us forward”, he said, adding that “the search for a new head coach is underway, we will make that announcement when the process is complete.”
