Residents of Federal Housing Estate in Phase 3 Kubwa, Bwari Area Council of Abuja had a raw deal with armed robbers in the early hours of Friday.
According to the residents the hoodlums started their operations at about 2a.m and escaped at about 3.34a.m through a canal behind the estate.
But the residents got a shocker of their lives when one of the victims dashed to the area police command in Kubwa only to be told he should come back later as they were still asleep.
The robbers numbering about seven according to the residents succeeded in robbing three flats but could not gain entry into the fifth flat despite using chemicals to melt the iron burglary proof.
The vigilante in the estate had to summon courage to confront the robbers as they attempt to apply a dark substance to soften the iron burglary proof.
One of the victims, name withheld told TheNewsGuru that “they entered our flat and we noticed nothing until they appeared in my bedroom and all I could do was to shout Jesus”.

“As I was shouting Jesus they just quietly left my flat and walked straight to the fifth flat but luckily our vigilante came to their rescue.
Another resident explained that “one commonality in this whole episode is that those that their flats were robbed either they just renovated their apartments or they just made visible purchases.
“They identified the flats and succeeded in three flats but the baffling part of this whole thing is the manner police treated our neighbour.
“Our neighbour who had his phones and ATM cards stolen dashed to our area command here in Kubwa only to be told the police were asleep.
“This is not a good testimony because some of us are just going back there now to file a complaint.
The robbers ran and left behind their operational car, ash colour Honda with registration number AZ422-MKA filled with tools.
