Bayelsa State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has denied killing naval personnel in the state last Saturday.

The party accused the state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, of peddling lies and fake news for selfish reasons, stressing that naval authorities had not informed anyone that one of their men was killed on Election Day in the state.

Recall that the state chapter of the PDP had in a statement on Sunday accused the APC thugs of killing the naval personnel on election duty in Brass Island of the state.

But denying the accusation, APC’s Publicity Secretary in the state, Mr. Doifie Buokoribo in a statement said that his party had no reason to kill anybody as it was not a party of desperate people.

The statement read in parts, “We have seen a statement issued by the Bayelsa State Chapter of PDP entitled: “PDP condemns murder of naval rating by APC thugs in Brass, Bayelsa.

“APC in Bayelsa State did not kill any Naval rating on Election Day. We have no reason to kill for power. We are not a party of desperate people.

“The Naval authorities have not told anyone that one of their men was murdered on Election Day. It is only the Navy that can account for its men. We know that the PDP and its leadership in Bayelsa State have an established notoriety for lying and fake news. But this latest claim must rank as the lowest of the low. The PDP needs to understand that even lying has its limits.”
