Sgt. Iberedem told the court that when the complainant confronted Adenuga on why he accused him, he (Adenuga), battered him with a plank and broke his right arm, thereby contravening Sections 168 and 246 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the accused who pleaded not guilty to the two-count charge of assault and breach of peace, was granted bail in the sum of N100, 000 with two sureties in like sum.

The Magistrate, Mr. Wahab Balogun, said the sureties must be blood relatives of the accused, working in reputable organisations and must produce evidence of tax payment to the Lagos State Government.

The case has been fixed for October 6, for mention.
