Ali Wakili: Bauchi declares three days of mourning

Bauchi State government has declared a three-day mourning period over the death of Senator Ali Wakili.

Wakili, 58, died in Abuja on Saturday and was interred at Gudu Cemetry in Abuja.

He was described as a vibrant legislator who was greatly committed to duty.

During the three day of mourning declared in his state, flags will fly at half mast.

Governor Mohammed Abubakar of Bauchi State has also suspended all state duties to mourn, while directing the  reduction, by two hours, the working time, during the mourning period.

According to the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Strategy, Ali M. Ali, the governor who expressed shock over Wakili’s death took solace in the Quranic injunction that every soul shall taste death.

He prayed for the repose of the soul of the departed legislator.
