For the All Progressives Congress, APC, the Eagle has landed as former Senate Minority Leader and former Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Godswill Akpabio, joined it on Wednesday.

Akpabio defected from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Before his defection, he resigned his post as the Senate Minority Leader.

Described as mother of all defections by the APC, the event took place at the Ikot Ekpene Township Stadium, Akwa Ibom State.

Very well attended, the occasion proclaimed the popularity of Akpabio with a mammoth crowd.

Very prominent members of the APC attended the occasions.

Present at the event were the National Chairman of the APC, Adams Oshiomhole; National Leader of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu; Leader of the Senate, Ahmed Lawan; Minsiter of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed and Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, among others.

Ahead of his defection, Akpabio arrived Nigeria on Tuesday after meeting President Muhammadu Buhari in London.

He was welcome to Akwa Ibom State by a huge crowd.
