The Super Eagles of Nigeria on Sunday bowed to the Algerians in the second semi-final match of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations.
An own goal by William Troost-Ekong in the first half of the game and a beautifully taken free kick by Riyad Mahrez in the dying minute of extra time gave the game, 2-1, to Algeria.
Nigeria’s goal came through a penalty in the second half.
The 70th minute penalty kick by striker Odion Ighalo followed the handling of the ball inside the area by Algeria’s Aissa Mandi.
Nigeria will play Tunisia who lost 1-0 to Senegal in the third place match.
