The death of former Secretary-General of the socio-cultural group, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, retired Col. Joe Achuzia is a great loss to Ndigbo and Nigeria.
This is the position of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide as contained in a statement issued by the Special Assistant to the President-General, Chief Emeka Attamah, in Abuja on Thursday.
Achuzia died at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Asaba at the age of 90 on February 26, 2018
He said the exploits of bravery and military discipline shown by him would remain a reference point in Nigeria’s history.

He stated that the history of the Biafra/Nigeria war would not be complete without mentioning him.
According to him, he fought gallantly in the war.
He also praised him for his contributions to the development of Igboland and Nigeria as the Secretary-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo.
Achuzia was the Secretary-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo between 2004 and 2007.
