The immediate past Governor of Oyo state, Abiola Ajimobi, who had been rumoured to have died Thursday is not dead, according to his Aide.
In a terse statement on his Facebook page, Mr. Bolaji Tunji, Special Adviser, Communication and Strategy, described the story as untrue, saying the rumours should be disregarded.
His Facebook page reads:
“My attention has been drawn to the rumours circulating on the social media about my principal. Kindly disregard. We however continue to pray for him. Thank you all for the show of concern. Bolaji Tunji, Special Adviser, Communication and Strategy.”

In the same vein, his daughter, Fatima, had also debunked the rumour in a tweet, saying “Thank you for all the messages but our father is still alive, alhamdulillah. When it is our time we will all die so wait first.”
However, there were reports in some newspapers on Thursday that the health of the former Governor had worsened, raising concerns which had given rise to reports that he might have died.
Ajimobi has been in intensive care unit at the First Cardiologist hospital, Ikoyi, Lagos, since he was rushed to there a few weeks ago after it was established that he had the Corona virus.
