Gov. Yahaya Bello of Kogi has dissolved the state Executive Council.
He announced the dissolution on Wednesday night in Lokoja while speaking with newsmen shortly after a long drawn-out meeting of the council at the Government House.
According to him, the dissolution was with immediate effect.
He directed the former Commissioners and Special Advisers to hand over to the Permanent Secretaries in their respective Ministries, Departments and Agencies, thanking them for their services to the state since the inception of his administration on Jan. 27, 2016.
However, the governor retained the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Folashade Ayoade, the Accountant-General, Momoh Jibril, the state Auditor-General, Yakubu Okala and his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Muhammed Onogu.

Those retained with new designations are Director-General, Media and Publicity to the governor, Mr. Kingsley Fanwo who is now Special Adviser on Information and Communication, and the former Commissioner for Finance, Mr. Idris Hashiru who becomes the Special Adviser on Budget and Planning to the governor.
Recall that the governor was on Nov. 16 re-elected for a term as governor of Kogi State.
