Ademola Adeleke, younger brother of the late Senator Isiaka Adeleke, has emerged the winner of the Osun West Senatorial District bye- election which held on Saturday, in Osun State.

Ademola Adeleke contested for the senatorial seat on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party.

He polled 42,742 ( 61.35%) to defeat his closest rival,

Mr. Mudashiru Husain of the All Progressives Congress, who polled 26,552 (31.11%).

The candidate of the Labour Party came third with 189 ( 0.27%).

The bye-election came following the sudden death of Senator Isiaka Adeleke.

The accreditation and voting in Osun West bye-election was conducted peacefully with a large turn out of voters.

Electoral officials were reported to have arrived venue of the polls on time with materials.

Despite the downpour, the people of the district came out en-masse to vote.
