PRUWA backs Emmanuel second term bid

Paramount Ruler’s Wives Association (PRUWA) Akwa Ibom State, has thrown its weight behind Governor Udom Gabriel Emmanuel’s second term ambition.

The group’s position was announced by its president, Akwaobongganwan Theresa Effiong Achianga, during a courtesy call on the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr. Udo Ekpenyong, in his office on Monday.

She assured Governor Emmanuel of the support of members of PRUWA and promised to stand by him in his aspiration for second term in office.

The president who is the wife of the paramount ruler of Ibeno, Effiong Archianga, lauded the governor for maintaining the tempo of superlative performance and commended the governor’s wife, Mrs. Martha Udom Emmanuel, for the empowerment programme for the poor and the needy.

She described Governor Emmanuel as an exemplary leader who was prepared and armed with pragmatic approach to democratic governance, pointing out that when the righteous were in place the people rejoice.

Her words:  “We want to express our support to Governor Udom Gabriel Emmanuel for his superlative performance in the state in the last two years in office and prayed that may the God Lord continue to guide and direct him for the remaining years.”

The Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr. Udo Ekpenyong, in his remarks hailed mothers as indispensable tools for nation-building and thanked the PRUWA members for the visit.
