An Acting Director General has been appointed for the Department of State Security Service, DSS, following the sack of Lawal Daura.
The new DSS boss is Matthew Benabafa Seiyefa.
The Presidency directed that Daura should hand over to the next most senior official who is Seiyefa.
Seiyefa was the director in charge of the training school of the DSS, Institute of Security Studies (ISS).
It would be recalled the Daura was fired on Tuesday by the Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo.
The sack followed the siege to the National Assembly on Tuesday by operatives of the DSS.

The leadership of the National Assembly, following appeal by the Presidency to reconvene to ensure smooth running of government resolved to hold an emergency meeting on Tuesday.
However, the DSS operatives who laid siege to the National Assembly frustrated the meeting schedule for 12 noon.
Following the development which became a national embarrassment, Osinbajo summoned Daura and the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, to the Presidential Villa, Abuja, where he queried the security bosses.
At the end of the briefing, Daura was fired.
He was directed to hand over to the next most senior officer.
