4000 policemen deployed as Buhari visits Nasarawa

No fewer than 4,000 officer and men of the Nigeria Police Force have been deployed ahead of President Muhammadu Buhari’s visit to Nasarawa State on Tuesday.

Nasarawa State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Bello Ahmed, who disclosed this on Monday said it was to ensure a hitch-free visit of the president to the state.

The security arrangement, he said, was with sister security agencies.

According to him, no fewer than 3,000 officers of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and other security agencies would be working with the police.

The security personnel, he stated, would be in strategic positions in the state.

He also appealed to members of the public to be law abiding and ensure a hitch-free visit.

His words: “I appeal to members of the public to be law abiding as they come out massively to welcome the president to the state.

“I also urge you to cooperate with the security agencies as they discharge their duties.’’

During the visit, the president will commission some projects executed by the state government.

One of them is the Comprehensive Special School for the Physically Challenged in Lafia.

The president will also commission the headquarters of the State Fire Service which is also located in Lafia.

The Comprehensive Primary Healthcare Centre in Kwandere near Lafia and Muhammadu Buhari International Market, Karu, will also be commissioned while the construction of a cargo airport in Lafia will be flagged off.
