Ikorodu Diamond Lions Club gives scholarship to 10 students

Ikorodu Diamond Lions Club in conjunction with the management of IFO College of Management and Technology has given a scholarship worth N1.935 million to 10 indigent students.

The scholarship was for them to complete their two- year National Diploma programme in their various chosen courses of study, starting from 2017/2018 academic session.

The club formally handed over the students to the school authorities recently at the resumption of the new academic calendar.

The scholarship was to encourage the indigent students to attain diploma without stress and as part of activities celebrating the commencement of a New Century of service by Lions Clubs International.

The president of the club, Lion Prince Adeyinka Oyenuga, commended the effort of the school management at the occasion and gave a brief explanation about the activities of the club.

She stated that the 100-year- old organization is a pool of volunteers across the world that offers selfless humanitarian services in line with the club slogan, ‘Where is a need, there is a Lion’ adding that the club makes efforts to ameliorate several needs of the less privileged in the society.

In his response, the Rector, Dr. D.O.B Dawodu, stated that the private institution is a polytechnic of choice with enough capable hands to ensure the future leaders are properly groomed in their various course of study.

One of the beneficiaries Samiat Isola, a student of Computer Engineering Department, was full of praises to the club and school management for their partnership and promised to come out tops to reciprocate the kind hearted gesture.
