Gunmen suspected to be militia herdsmen has, again, killed three persons in a community in Guma local government area of Benue State.

The Next Edition gathered that the suspected herders invaded Ngban community in Guma local government Sunday evening, killing three person.

A source from the area who pleaded not to be named said suspected herders had been attacking their area in recent times.

According to him, last three weeks had been horrible in some communities in the local government as over 13 people were killed at Tse Numgbera, Umella, Yogbo and Ukohol communities all in Guma LGA.

He said the latest attack happened around 4pm on Sunday when suspected herders invaded Ngban in Nyiev council Ward of Guma local government.

“They were fulani herders, they came in their numbers and attacked our village around 4pm yesterday, Sunday. Three people were killed.”

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Benue state command, SP Catherine Anene, confirmed the attack.

She said, “Three persons were killed in an attack at Guma, corpses have been removed to Benue State University Teaching Hospital, BSUTH, Makurdi, while investigation is ongoing.”
