There was protest in Osogbo, the Osun State capital on Tuesday evening following the death of a suspected Internet fraudster in a car accident while being chased by the police.

The police attached to the Osun Joint Task Force had pursued the suspect identified as Remi and three others when their car, a Toyota Corolla with registration number KUJ-553LY Abuja veered off the road during the chase and hit an electricity pole.

Remi was said to have died on the spot in the accident which occurred at the East bypass, while two others who sustained serious injuries later died while they were being taken away.

The Next Edition gathered that thereafter, the police officers were given a hot chase by sympathisers as they were running away from the scene of the accident.

They were said to have shot sporadically into the air to be able to escape mob action from the angry mob.
