Lagos Records Another COVID-19 Related Death

Barely 24 hours after it announced the death of a COVID-19 patient, Lagos State Government has announced the death of another COVID-19 patient.

This brings to seven the total number of deaths in the state.

The State Commissioner of Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi who made this known via his verified Twitter account on Wednesday, also confirmed that the state recorded 25 new cases of #COVID19 on Tuesday bringing the total confirmed cases in the state to 217.

According to him, the deceased was a 63-year-old male Nigerian with no travel history.

The tweet read: “#COVID19LAGOS update as at 14th of April, 2020
*️⃣25 new cases of #COVID19 Infection confirmed in Lagos State.
*️⃣ Total number of confirmed #COVID19Lagos cases rises to 217
*️⃣8 fully recovered #COVID19 patients; 2 females & 6 males were discharged
*️⃣Total discharged #COVID19 patients in Lagos is now 69.
*️⃣ Lagos recorded another #COVID19 death; a 63 year old male, Nigerian ??who had no history of travel or contact with any confirmed case.
*️⃣Total #COVID19 related deaths now stands at 7”
