An Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court on Thursday ordered a 59-year-old man, Adeleke Adebanjo, who allegedly defiled his 9-year-old housekeeper, to be remanded in Kirikiri Correctional Service, pending legal advice.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr. P.E. Nwaka, who did not take the plea of Adebanjo ordered that the case file be returned to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for advice.
Nwaka adjourned the case until March 23, for mention.

Adebanjo, who resides at No. 51, Williams Owodein Crescent, Oko-Oba, GRA Scheme 1, Agege, Lagos State, is facing a count charge of defilement.
The News Agency of Nigeria quoted the Prosecutor, Insp. Christopher John, as telling the court that the defendant committed the offence sometime in 2019, at his residence.
John alleged that Adebanjo forcefully defiled his housekeeper when his wife was not around.
“The case was reported to the police and the defendant was arrested,” the prosecutor said.
John said the offence contravened Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
