Ahead of political campaigns for the 2023 general elections, stakeholders of the Labour Party in Benue State have been charged to work hard to ensure victory for its candidates at the polls.
The Governorship candidate and leader of the party, Mr. Herman Hembe gave the charge while addressing the party stakeholders, in Makurdi.
Hembe who noted that the progress and success of the party in the 2023 elections was sacrosanct said every candidate must imbibe hard work as the only way to achieve victory.
“Ours is a party of the people but we need to do the necessary weight lifting to ensure victory and rescue our people from the clutches of poverty and underdevelopment. Our victory lies in our hard work. Let’s get the work done”.
The law maker stated that Labour party remains the best alternative for the Benue people but warned that candidates should not rest on their oars until victory is achieved.

State Chairman of Labour Party, Mr. Ibrahim Otene appreciated the efforts of the candidates at making the party strong saying he was committed to delivering the party candidates at the polls.
A press statement signed by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Kengkeng Ati said the meeting which was exclusive to State Working Committee members and candidates of the party was convened at the instance of Mr. Hembe to assess consultations done so far and chart the way forward.
Present at the meeting were Deputy Governorship candidate, Godwin Adejor, Senatorial candidate for Benue North East Senatorial District and member of House of Representatives, Mark Gbillah, Senatorial Candidate for Benue South Senatorial District, Joseph Ojobo, Senatorial candidate for Benue North East, Torngee Malu, Member of the House of Representatives and candidate for Buruku Federal Constituency, Kpam Jimin Sopko.
Also in attendance were member and candidate for Gboko East State Constituency, Ngohemba Agaigbe, Member and candidate for Konshisha State Constituency, Cephas Dyako, former Member of the House of Representatives and candidate for Kwande/Ushongo Federal Constituency Barr. Benjamin Wayo among others.
