The crisis in Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, is far from over as some party members especially those loyal to Governor Akinwunmi Ambode have indicated their unwillingness to work for the victory of the party in the forth coming general election.
Though they have not openly shown their grievances in order not to be counted as rebellious to the party’s decision, some of them are undecided whether to give their best to the party and continue to suffer humiliation in the hand of godfather or not.
Speaking to Next Edition, a chieftain of the party who did not want his name mentioned said many of them are disenchanted over the manner the party structure is being run.
He said, “I don’t like what they are turning Lagos to, this is not how we started, honestly, I am not just happy with everything going on in Lagos APC.
“I can tell you that the way I am felling is the same with some of our leaders across the state.”
The leader of the party in one of the local governments in the state was an ardent supporter of Governor Ambode’s second term project until he was dumped for Jide Sanwo-Olu the governorship candidate of the party in 2019.
However, the assistant publicity secretary of the party in the state, Abiodun Salami said there is no way the party can satisfy everybody at the party’s primary.
According to him, “In any organisation like political party, it is not possible to satisfied everybody, but we are working to ensure that everybody is carried along at the end of the day.”

Salami dismissed the claim that some party members could be working against the party’s interest insisting that everybody is working as a family as far as the 2019 governorship and other elections were concerned.
“No member is working against the interest of the party in the state; we had a meeting of the party recently and there, everybody indicated interest to work for the victory of the party.”
He urged those nursing bitterness against the party to follow the normal channel established by the party in resolving crisis.
Despite discontentment in the party, he promised that APC would win the governorship election in the state because the party has the needed structure and support of Lagosians.
Don’t forget, we have been in power since 1999 and with what the successive administrations including the present one have done, nobody is in doubt of the ability of our great party to perform if given another mandate.”
