Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State has predicted an improvement in the economy of the state in 2019.
This would be possible, he said because his administration has established an enabling environment for businesses to thrive.
In his New Year message at the grand finale of the 2018 One Lagos Fiesta, held at the Eko Atlantic City in Victoria Island, on Tuesday, Ambode also assured that his government would deliver more life-changing projects for the benefit of all residents before the end of his tenure.
He said: “I want you to know that 2019 has a lot in stock for all of us and we must stand up for a better Nigeria and a greater Lagos.

“I believe the GDP of Lagos will grow and I believe irrespective of what is happening Lagos remains the most prosperous state in Nigeria and it can only get better,”
Assuring that he would do everything possible to complete all ongoing capital projects across the state before the expiration of his tenure in May, the governor hinged the successes of his administration to the efforts of security agencies keeping the city safe, adding that Lagos had emerged the safest place to live in Africa.
He used the opportunity to canvass support for President Muhammadu Buhari’s re-election bid urging Lagosians to vote for him in the February 16 Presidential Election. He also solicited for votes for the All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship candidate in the state, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, in the March 2 election.
Securing the candidates of the party in the state, and Buhari at the centre, he said would ensure the continued positive economic movement the country and the state in particular had witnessed since 2015.
